  • Elliott, Davis & Company and affiliates Moore Stephens Elliott Davis and Elliott Dendorfer received top marks after a review of its accounting and auditing practices by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
  • Elliott, Davis & Company has designated Bill Woodward as Senior Manager. In the firm's nearby Aiken office, Claudia Kopp-Adams, Rusty Little, Cindy Meares, and Mike Terry were also promoted to Senior Managers.
  • Paul Meyer has been promoted to Vice President, Manufacturing and Product Development for John Deere Commercial Products. He will oversee the Augusta locations, Turf Care in Fuqua-Varina, North Carolina; Knoxville, TN & Enschede, Netherlands. He will also have Division responsibilities for Quality and B.P.E Initiative. The new General Manager for the Augusta location of John Deere Commercial Products will be Cheryl L. Pletcher.
  • NewSouth Communications Corporation has promoted Hunter Gibson to District Manager of its Augusta office. Gibson is responsible for managing all sales activity for the Greater Savannah River Area, including Aiken, North Augusta and Augusta.
  • John W. Sykes has joined Tonercharge Corporation as Sales Manager. Sykes will direct sales activities and oversee marketing efforts for the organization.
  • Dr. Constance J. Pritchard, president and principal of The Pritchard Group, Inc., has been appointed to the board of the Southeastern Employment and Training Association, a regional organization of professionals and policymakers representing areas of workforce development.
  • Pamela A. Jones, CFP, a financial advisor with the Martinez/Evans office of American Express Financial Advisors, received the President's Recognition Award, an award program designed to recognize advisors providing high quality, thorough and objective advice.
  • The Medical College of Georgia received an Employer of the Year Award from Kerr Business College at their annual commencement ceremony on August 25. MCG has employed 15 Kerr graduates in the past year.
  • Daphne Jones, Director of Finance and Human Resources for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, is a recent graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to position chambers and associations to meet the needs of the 21st century.

BRYAN PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Amy Bryan, former Project Manager for the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, has been promoted to Vice President of Membership Development for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Bryan came to Augusta from the Killeen, Texas Chamber of Commerce where she worked in administration and membership. She joined the Augusta Metro Chamber as a receptionist in hopes that a position would become available. She moved to the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce in 1999 to serve as the economic development project manager.

A replacement project manager for the Columbia County Chamber will be found to work with the Development Authority of Columbia County and Brian Quinsey, the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce's new executive director who began his tenure on September 18, 2000.
