AUGUSTA OFFERS AFFORDABLE LIVING

According to the American Chamber of Commerce Researchers Association (ACCRA), Augusta has a lower cost of living than any other similar sized city in the region, at 3.2% below the national average. This index measures the differences between areas in the cost of services and consumer goods, excluding tax, for the professional and managerial households in the top income bracket.

ROUNDTABLE PROVIDES INVALUABLE RESOURCES TO SMALL BUSINESS

The Small Business Roundtable, sponsored by the Augusta Metro Chamber, began their regular meeting schedule September 7. The groups, consisting of 10-13 small business owners including one banker, one CPA and one attorney, meet monthly September through June. Participants benefit by discussing business challenges and learning from others' experiences, knowledge and success stories.

"Every business both large and small needs a board of directors. The Small Business Round Table gives you just that: a CPA, an attorney, a banker, and other business owners, just like Fortune 500 companies. It has been an invaluable addition to my business planning," said Kevin Wade, owner of Intellisystems.

Roy Tritt with Tritt, Warlick, Tritt & Stebbins, LLP, agrees. "The Small Business Round Table allows you to view other businesses objectively. It helps you see what mistakes NOT to make," he says.

All chamber members who are small business owners are invited to attend. Call the Augusta Metro Chamber's Membership Department, 821-1300, for more information on groups and meeting schedules.
